Mr. Sherin is the Chairman of GCG. Prior to a management-led buyout in 1994, GCG had been a practice unit within KPMG Peat Marwick known as Settlement Administration Services. As Managing Director at the practice since 1988, Mr. Sherin's noteworthy accomplishments include managing the relationship with Manville Trust during a successful, multi-year project. He also participated in the sales and project delivery teams on-site in Kuwait for that government's claims assignment following the Persian Gulf War.
Since GCG became an independent organization, Mr. Sherin has been one of the company's senior executives instrumental in spearheading its growth.
Among his proudest accomplishments at GCG, he has attracted and retained a senior management team, which is second to none in the industry. GCG's business lines have expanded into new areas while consistently growing revenues and profits.
His career with KPMG Peat Marwick spanned nearly 14 years encompassing consulting for banking and financial services clients. He was also a senior officer with the financial services consulting practice of the former Touche Ross & Company and was the Senior Vice President and Officer-in-Charge of the trust department of a Long Island regional bank for nearly five years.
Today, Mr. Sherin serves as a Trustee of the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County and is also Treasurer of Crimestoppers of Nassau County, Inc.
Long active in the community, his volunteer affiliations include: ECPCP (Prostate Cancer Organization), WLIW 21, Project Children, Iona College, the Friends of Mercy Hospital, Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Long Island.
